Sell your gold jewelry?

I saw on some TV ad that you can sell your old gold jewelry for cash. You just mail in your envelope and they send you cash. I was wondering if this was a bad deal for the seller and if there is somewhere else I should go to unload a bunch of old gold rings and necklaces?

Have you tried one of them gold/cash places you see around? Like this one in my attached photo. Sorry the photo is so crappy. It was raining as you can see. LOL

That one near me is called Capitol Cash and the sign says "Turn gold into gas money."

You need a lot of gold to fill a tank these days.
